Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the day that Lucas Bryant Benefield was removed from life support following non-accidental trauma on February 8th, 2012. I have thought and thought of the best thing to say...the best way to remember him...and I'm blank. When a grandparent or other loved one passes away after a long, full life, happy memories can be shared. Stories can be told. My family has learned the hard way that when an infant passes away, there is only pain.
Thank you all for your support the past year. We are still working diligently on the justice that Lucas deserves, but because of the sensitive nature of legal proceedings, that is all I am liberty to say right now.
